Stephanie Fovenyessy and Sierra F. Patterson

Fovenyessy graduated in 2017 with a bachelor’s degree in anthropology and geography and a minor in Geographic Information Systems from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo. She traveled to Texas to survey the damage caused by Hurricane Harvey while working at USGS as a physical science technician.
Patterson graduated in 2016 with a bachelor’s degree in geological sciences from California State University, Fullerton. She conducted the damage survey during an internship at the USGS Earthquake Science Center, where she continues to work, studying natural disasters and the aftereffects.
