Mary E. Clayton, Jill B. Kjellsson and Michael E. Webber

Clayton, currently an engineer at CLEAResult, earned her master’s in mechanical engineering in 2013 at the University of Texas at Austin (UT Austin) where she studied wind-powered desalination with support from a National Science Foundation graduate research fellowship. Kjellsson spent summer 2014 as an intern at the White House and is set to earn a dual master’s in public affairs and environmental and water resource engineering at UT Austin in fall 2014 for her research on solar-powered desalination. Webber is the Josey Centennial Fellow in Energy Resources and deputy director of the Energy Institute at UT Austin. His book on the energy-water nexus, titled “Thirst for Power,” is scheduled for publication by Yale University Press in 2015.
