ASSISTANT SCIENTIST

Position supports senior scientific staff and provides an opportunity to develop the skills and understanding necessary to create geologic maps. The employee may be asked to spend considerable time traveling, working outdoors, and at physical tasks. There is also a component of office-based tasks including examination of rock and sediment samples; entering, viewing, and manipulating data in geographic information systems; plotting and analyzing surface and subsurface data; and creating geologic maps or maps derived from geologic data. Master’s degree in geology and experience with Quaternary geology preferred – one year probationary period. Applications will be accepted until position is filled.
